Dating someone means you're seeing somebody specific, with purpose and on a regular basis. You're spending time with a person (or persons) in hopes of finding committed relationships. Dating is like a compulsory step to most of our lives. Some may think of it as a step that we have to pass through. Well, do Christians also need to date? What should a Christian do while he/she is dating? What is the right age of dating?

According to genesis, God gave Adam a companion. He gave Adam a wife, Eve. Now Adam and Eve were in a relationship and were supposed to multiply and fill the earth. Genesis 1:27-28, So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

²⁸ God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” So it is clear as day that relationships were God given. Now the question is, what is the right time to date?

Dating is like a start to a good relationship and probably a successful marriage. Well personally I think someone should take this step when they are mature enough to handle a family. This is a big step honestly. So if you want to start dating someone, you should have a consistent source of income. Normally we men take ladies out to dates and we cannot stand small embarrassments such as lack of money to pay for the bills. So my take is, one should have a good source of income to be able to treat a lady as you get to know her better. Remember this is a person you’re interested in, a person you’d like to build a family with. So you have to treat him/her as a special being.

After getting your partner where you want them to be, what next. In the secular world people don’t have a problem with sex before marriage. In fact it is like a way of declaring your love to someone. It is what people do but that isn’t the Christian way. According to Ecclesiastes 11:9 Young people, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your heart's desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do. In whatever we do, God will judge us personally. So what is the bible’s take concerning sex before marriage? It is considered as fornication. Fornication is sex before marriage. So, unless we are married, we aren’t supposed to have sex. Hebrews 11:4 Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral

Well it is clear what Christians should do and what they shouldn’t do while dating. In our times temptations are many but God does not tempt us beyond our strength. It is something we can handle so now you know what to do while dating.
